UTILITY ASSOCIATE

SUMMARY:

Under warehouse supervision, a utility worker is responsible for assisting with the physical maintenance of the warehouse facility. They will be responsible for diagnosing maintenance issues, making repairs, ensuring that all service requests are executed in a  timely manner, providing direction to their utility personnel, establish priorities, coordinating work projects, and maintaining all equipment in good condition.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operates material handling equipment

• Promote safe working environments

• Check control panels identifying issues

• Assures that facility maintenance service requests and complaints are responded to promptly and effectively

• Properly documents and maintains paperwork for work performed on the facility

• Maintain inventory of parts and spare equipment sufficient to meet the repair needs of the facility

• Follow instructions for safely operating equipment

• Escalate issues directly to upper management

• Ability to read, write, and count accurately
• Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally
• Ability to bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
• Safety Knowledge
• Equipment knowledge
• Willing to change shift and hours as needed if business needs dictate
• Flexibility to work overtime
• Ability to lead a small team, ability to work independently, multi-tasking skills, organizational skills, flexibility required, excellent with numbers and time management skills

EDUCATION

• High school diploma and/or GED equivalent

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Warehouse temperatures are variable and often uncontrolled, unless product being stored requires specific temperatures

• Conditions in warehouse setting can be dangerous, as tasks involve operation of heavy machinery. Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts

• PPE may be required. Safety gear to include face mask, ear plugs, steel toe shoes , etc..

PAY/SHIFT

$12.00 per hour DOE

Monday- Friday 6:00 am- 2:30 pm  or 2:00 pm-10:30 pm (additional $0.50 shift differential)
